TOPIC: Can't link directly to modules

Can't link directly to modules 4 Months, 2 Weeks ago
Hi,

I've installed the module and added a couple of links, but when I try and link directly to a module I get the following error:

"You are not permitted to use that link to directly access that page (#xxx)"

Not sure if there is a way around this with Joomla 1.6, or if i'm doing something wrong.

I had a similar module for Joomla 1.5 and I was able to link directly to modules.

For example I put a icon link to say a banner module, so my clients can have quick access.

Thanks

Hi,

It looks like this is due to ACL. You would have to play with the ACL settings to see if you can get it to allow you to have access to the links.

Sorry, don't have enough experience with ACL yet to tell you what you would need to change to get that to work.

Good luck.

I have the same problem and I set the highest permission to superuser, also check-in from globle setting several time, it still cannot link to modules page.

Hi,

What are you using for your link? Try: index.php?option=com_modules&task=module.edit&id=xx
where xx is the id of the module you want to edit.
